ENVIRONMENTAL CARBON TRAINING COURSES

There is a global shortage of suitably trained carbon management professionals”.

Get the knowledge and skills you need to manage carbon performance

We are affiliated with the leading provider of classroom Carbon Training in the UK. Their hands on training courses cover carbon quantification, verification and carbon project management.  The courses are based on the only global standard ISO 14064 and the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) protocol.

“The only company who can offer CSA ISO 14064 training in the UK and Ireland”.

All of these courses have been developed by world renowned carbon emissions experts from the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) who hold the Secretariat for the committee that developed the ISO 14000 environmental management and ISO 14064 climate change standards. These training courses will open up a world of opportunity. There is currently a global shortage of suitably qualified personnel in the Carbon Quantification, Projects and Verification areas.

Key Points

·         There is a global shortage of suitably trained carbon management professionals.

·         They are the only company who can offer CSA ISO 14064 training in the UK and Ireland

·         ISO 14064 is the only global standard in carbon management and measurement.

·         ISO 14064 conforms to the GHG Protocol and forms the basis of the Carbon Trust Standard.

·         The Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) is a mandatory emissions trading scheme required under statute and is starting in April 2010.
Around 20,000 organisations in the UK will be affected by the new law. There will be an increased demand for carbon management professionals to assist these companies in compliance.

ELEVATE YOUR GHG PROJECT EXPERTISE

Ready to move to the next level? We offer advanced CSA GHG project management courses to help consultants, validators and verifiers reduce carbon footprints.

Course 3

CARBON EMISSION REDUCTION EXPERT COURSE

ISO 14064-2 Expert -

Greenhouse Gas Projects (3 day)

This course builds on its prerequisite, CSA ISO 14064-2 Essentials - GHG Projects course and provides detailed understanding of GHG projects to project developers and practitioners. Material covered in this course includes:

• Planning the GHG quantification

• Good practice guidance

• Describing the project

• Identification of SSRs relevant to the project

• Determining the baseline scenario

• Baseline SSRs and monitoring vs. estimating

• Quantification of GHG emissions and/or removals

• Monitoring and managing data quality

• Preparing a GHG assertion

As more and more organisations move to measure and manage their carbon footprints, qualified, independent GHG Verifiers are in increasing demand. This CSA GHG Verifier course can help give you the knowledge and skills you need to take advantage of this fast-growing opportunity in the climate change field.

ENTER THE EMERGING CARBON MARKETPLACE

As carbon offset trading schemes and new government regulations increase, so will the need for qualified, independent GHG Validators. This CSA GHG Validator course will equip you to ensure that the project conforms to the requirements of a standard or the rules of a GHG program.

Course 4

GREENHOUSE GAS VALIDATION

USING ISO 14064 (2 day)

This course builds on CSA ISO 14064-2 Essentials - GHG Projects course and provides detailed training on the approach to validation using the ISO 14064-3 standard. Material covered in the course includes

• Assessing your own competencies to conduct the validation

• Establishing the verification scope, objectives, criteria and level of assurance with the client

• Establishing a materiality threshold for the validation

• Assessing the risks involved in a validation

• Developing a verification plan, including a sampling plan

• Assessing GHG information systems and controls

• Assessing the GHG documentation, data, information and emission reduction or removal estimates or measurements for the project

• Evaluating the GHG assertion against the agreed-upon validation criteria

• Issuing the validation statement, including any limitations that may be put on the statement

• Keeping records and addressing facts discovered after the validation
