The Role:

• To provide effective leadership of the southern production team to ensure Health & Safety requirements are delivered, water treatment regulations are complied with, KPI objectives are delivered, and team and asset performance is maximised.
• Develop and implement production operation and reactive maintenance strategy and where appropriate, adopt changes in processes and procedures to enhance safety, reliability, compliance, and team productivity.
• Responsible for implementation and embedded use of the Competent Operator Scheme (COS).
• Develop, implement, and monitor sustainable/continuous improvements to operational efficiency. 
• Formulate and manage Opex and Capex budgets with a continued efficiency drive.
• Develop, implement, and maintain adequate procedures, systems, practices, and risk assessments.
• Implement risk-based approaches to maintenance practice considering cost, performance, and risk factors. 
• Promote improvements and support initiatives to reduce exposure to critical risk / hazards through maintenance activities on the southern area assets.  
• Measure of success defined by proactive investigations and a reduction in hi potential incidents.
• Deliver 100% compliance of the Competent Operator Scheme, supplying evidence and auditing processes as required.
• Maximise and coordinate production asset performance & reliability as measured by the Unplanned interruption outcome delivery incentive (ODI).
• Deliver maintenance, compliance, and team activities within annual operating expenditure budgets.
• Continuous employee engagement, staff retention and team development.
• Work in conjunction with onsite WQ chemist to maximise quality and optimise efficiency throughout all treatment processes.
• Communicate with key internal and external stakeholders including Supply chain partners, Environment Agency (EA), Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI
• Undertake regular management safety tours.
• Ensure Production staff are fully trained and competent and plan and conduct regular 1-2-1 and appraisal meetings.
• Manage absence, capability, discipline, and grievance matters.
• Promote team development and succession planning.

What you’ll need 

• Essential to understand and manage Drinking Water Inspectorate and Environmental Agency regulations and standards.
• Ful UK Driving License
• Knowledge of water treatment and chemical dosing processes is desired.
• Experience of leading operational teams to deliver high performance.
• Experience of managing operational budgets is essential.
• Evidence of the ability to develop and implement plans.
