ABOUT USSilvaNua provides comprehensive forestry services specialising in Continuous Cover Forestry, native woodland and broader nature restoration. We focus on innovative management and establishment of mixed conifer–hardwood systems, agroforestry, bog and upland restoration, with education and training delivered through video content and field practice.
We are a small, independent forestry and nature restoration business based in the west of Ireland, working primarily with farmers, landowners, and community organisations across Galway and Clare.
Our work goes beyond standard forestry services. Alongside core farm forestry and woodland establishment, we are actively developing and demonstrating innovative, ecologically grounded land-use models, including:
- Farm forestry & agroforestry systems
- Native woodland establishment and restoration
- Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF)
- Bog and wetland restoration projects
- Climate-resilient and experimental forestry approaches
A key part of our mission is education and knowledge-sharing. We are currently developing:
- A Farm Forestry video series with the Department of Agriculture, documenting real projects on working farms
- Woodland promotion and farmer education initiatives
- Field days, site visits, and community-based learning events
We aim to show what good forestry and land stewardship can look like in practice — grounded, local, and realistic — while quietly pushing the system in a better direction.
