Company Profile

The West of England Combined Authority (WECA)

3 Rivergate
Temple Quay
United Kingdom (UK)
Website Address:

The West of England is one of the UK’s most prosperous regions with an economy worth over £33 billion a year. A net contributor to the national purse, with a population of over 1 million and over 43,000 businesses, our region competes on a global scale.

In 2016, three of the councils in the West of England signed a devolution deal worth £1 billion. As a result, significant powers and funding have been transferred to the region through the new West of England Combined Authority and West of England Mayor.

WECA is made up of three of the local authorities in the region – Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Working with our partners including the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), North Somerset Council and others, our aim is to deliver economic growth for the region and address some of our challenges, such as productivity and skills, housing and transport.
