WHO WE ARE

WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. Our mission is to create a world where people and wildlife can thrive together.

To achieve our mission, we're finding ways to help transform the future for the world’s wildlife, rivers, forests and seas; pushing for a reduction in carbon emissions that will avoid catastrophic climate change; and pressing for measures to help people live sustainably, within the means of our one planet.

We’re acting now to make this happen.

AFFECTING CHANGE IN SIX BIG AREAS

We’re determined to achieve the greatest impact possible through our work, so we’ve set ourselves six ambitious challenges to meet by 2018 – which we’ve named our ‘six big wins’. These are as follows:

Restoring Wildlife

We’re working to stabilise or increase populations of many of the world’s most iconic and threatened species.

Sustaining Forests and Oceans

We’re aiming for significant increases in the area of forests and oceans that are properly protected and well-managed in places we regard as particularly vital.

Rivers Flowing

We’re striving to secure or improve the flow of four or more of the world’s great rivers. And measures are in place to ensure UK rivers are returned to good ecological health.

Trading Sustainable Seafood and Timber

We’re pressing for radical changes that’ll transform the timber and seafood sectors in the UK.

Reducing Carbon Emissions

We’re developing coalitions that can shift energy policy and reduce global carbon emissions.

Living Sustainably

A one planet economy where people and nature thrive has been promoted, and approaches to achieving this effectively demonstrated, through addressing the drivers of environmental degradation.

WORKING FROM THE UK

We're based here in the UK to ensure that we're working as hard as possible to make the greatest positive impact to our planet from your donations.

In fact you can come visit us. Our UK headquarters - the Living Planet Centre in Woking - has a visitor and education centre so you can pop in and say 'hi'

We also have local offices in Edinburgh and Cardiff to make sure that we're able to make change happen at a local level - no matter where you are in the UK.

SAVING THE PLANET IS OUR DAY JOB. IT COULD BE YOURS TOO

COME JOIN US

We employ knowledgeable, talented people who are passionate about engaging and inspiring others. People who share our optimism that it’s possible to change the world. People who are determined to make a difference.

Are you one of those people? Then we’d love you to join us.

WHERE WE WORK

There are around 350 of us working for WWF-UK. Most of us are based at the Living Planet Centre - our UK headquarters in Woking, Surrey. And some of us are based in Cardiff or Edinburgh.
