Stopford has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technology & Innovation Consultant to join the team at our Lancaster University Offices.

You will be based at our Lancaster University offices with occasional travel to our Head Office in Ellesmere Port and subsidiary offices at Keele University and Mere Hall ,Knutsford .

The Role:

The Senior Technology and Innovation Consultant will be responsible for leading collaborative innovation and consultancy projects that serve the low-carbon and circular economy sectors. They will have experience in executing collaborative R&D projects with public and private sector stakeholders, as well as experience in managing the delivery of consultancy projects for clients. A proven track record in securing funding and delivering projects with support from InnovateUK, Horizon 2020 and UK Research Councils would be an advantage. 

Reporting to the Technology & Innovation Director, the successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the Technology & Innovation Service Group as well as externally with Stopford’s innovation partners and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new and support existing collaborative relationships for the development and commercialisation of novel process technologies to serve the low carbon and circular economy sectors.

• Identify funding opportunities to support the execution of collaborative R&D projects from sources including InnovateUK, H2020, BEIS and Research Councils.

• Support the preparation of proposals.

• Project manage collaborative innovation and consulting projects ensuring that deliverables meet targets for quality, time and budget.

• Line management of members of the Technology & Innovation team focusing on both their short-term development goals (essential knowledge and skills) and the longer-term future career development of individuals.

• Ensure that Technology & Innovation services are delivered in accordance with our Integrated Management System.

• Demonstrate flexibility and customer focus and perform any other tasks within the overall scope of the Technology & Innovation Service Group, which may be reasonably required.

• Assist other Stopford activities as appropriate and consistent with skills and experience.

• Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe and proficient manner meeting H&S requirements.

About you

• University educated with a degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related subject.
• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
• Proven experience in project management.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail – able to work in a methodical manner and deal with complexity.
• Proficient in scheduling and planning.
• Hold a valid UK/EEC driving license 
• Proven experience of working with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) is desirable.
