Solar Operations Manager

We are UK leaders in the design, installation and maintenance of a range of renewable technologies for large portfolio domestic and commercial properties.

The Account Manager will be responsible to create long-term, trusting relationships with both the domestic and commercial O&M customers for solar renewable energy. The key aspect of the role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers and develop new business from existing clients.


* Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
* Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
* Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits
* Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
* Conduct finance tracking including cost optimisation and forecasting
* Clearly communicate the progress of monthly and quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
* Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify new opportunities
* Manage a portfolio of solar plants, ensuring that all O&M execution work is undertaken in accordance with the agreed contractual scope
* Review O&M contracts and ensure that all contractual obligations are met
* Collaborate with appropriate personnel for both preventive and reactive maintenances to be scheduled
* Ensure all tasks performed on site are done following the company’s health and safety processes
* Manage the strategic and operational aspects of the O&M department
* Contribute to the successful completion of PAC, IAC and FAC
* Collect and manage asset information for the O&M department and maintain the Master Asset Register
* Manage fault tickets, ensuring contractual obligations and response times are fulfilled
* Log and review all O&M site reports
* Identify and manage all interruptions to power generation and/or general operation of projects
* Produce quotes for chargeable work
* Create POs for parts and services
* Manage subcontractor relationships and contacts
* Support in the resolution of Legacy Solar Residential customers
* Manage project handovers between EPC and O&M
* Contribute to the development of company processes
* Assist with other arising O&M requirements and administrative activities

Skills and Experience

* Educated at degree level in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience in the solar industry.
* Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven track record of managing operational solar plant projects
* Working knowledge of project planning processes
* Effective multi-tasking skills while maintaining excellent attention to detail for all responsible projects
* Driven and able to take initiative in order to deliver high quality client-focused solutions to customer needs
* Deadline oriented and capable of efficient time management
* Able to remain composed and professional under pressure, always keeping a positive outlook
* Logical and a clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* Strong Health and Safety awareness
* Aptitude for identifying ways to improve established procedures to ensure maximisation of resources
* Financial and commercial acumen
* Flexible mind-set and quickly adaptable to changing needs of projects
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
* Good IT skills in Microsoft Office suite
