HSEQ Director

We have an excellent opportunity for a HSEQ Director. Based in UK, with flexible working options available also. The successful candidate will lead the Health, Safety Environment and Quality Team, ensuring delivery of a comprehensive, reliable, efficient, legal and regulatory compliant HSEQ service across the group.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, maintain, guide and account for the Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability Business performance and associated management systems, ensuring objectives and strategies are developed and met that contribute and assist in supporting the Company vision and values
  • Lead, and co-ordinate the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Team who will be experts in their own fields, taking the lead in investigations, proactive and reactive work, development and implementation of policies, supporting leadership teams in their HSEQ obligations and maintaining an external perspective on HSEQ.
  • Builds and manages relationships with the business to build and instil confidence in plans and decision making to drive a strong HSEQ culture across the business.
  • Develop a “business partner” approach driving excellence in of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards. Research and work collaboratively with relevant external and internal service providers and partners ensuring that there is a comprehensive understanding of the Business needs both presently and in the future.
  • Lead, build, develop and implement HSEQ strategy through effective project delivery and workstream governance.
  • Develop Management Reporting suite and relevant KPI reporting for the Board and wider business.
  • Working with a range of clients, overseeing project delivery, accurately assessing HSEQ risks and strategy to create and deliver solutions
  • Providing legislative and regulation advice on all matters relating to HSEQ management to ensure ongoing compliance

 

About you

You will be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as within project teams drawn from our regional offices.

You will have a proven track record within a health, safety, environment and quality role ideally within a private equity owned business. Thus, you will need to be proficient in creating pragmatic, innovative solutions.

You will show demonstrable experience in strategy, driving growth, business development and leadership and will have a solid understanding of general finance and budgeting. You will have the ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, clients and employees and possess excellent communication skills.

Candidates will have Degree or diploma (or equivalent) in health and safety and ideally Chartered status with a relevant membership body (CMIOSH)

 

Required skills:

  • Experience in the following standards: OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety standard, ISO 9001 (quality management standard) and ISO 14001 (environmental management standard)
  • Excellent commercial acumen and financial understanding.
  • Proven management and leadership experience, excellent communications skills with experience of engaging with a range of stakeholders, ideally on a global scale.
  • Previous experience of working with aviation or other relevant field.
