We are currently looking for a Learning and Development Consultant to join our Human Resources team.

Operating within an increasingly competitive talent market and in a rapidly growing global business, this role is both strategic and operational. Increasing staff retention and speeding up progression whilst reviewing and developing learning solutions. Working with the HR Director, L&D Manager and business colleagues, you'll create and deliver a series of structured career paths backed up by cohesive suite of programmes that accelerate learning and succession.

Purpose of the role

Working with the HR Director, L&D Manager and business colleagues, you'll create and deliver a series of structured career paths backed up by cohesive suite of programmes that accelerate learning and succession.

You will be building on a solid foundation of L&D activity which needs an experienced and dedicated learning and development specialist to co-ordinate, track usage and measure the success of the career development pathways. Improving upon them by updating existing, creating new content and developing innovative ideas. Working across company networks, you'll identify subject matter experts and support them in creating and delivering great learning solutions. Ensuring that our Consultant teams remain motivated and fulfilled at work, no matter their level of seniority.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review and respond to user feedback on the 3 Consultant Career Development Paths. Enhancing the usability, ensuring measurement is effective and tracking that usage is leading to promotions.
* Review Development Road Maps (employee aspirations) and Personal Development Plans to identify themes and make recommendations for supporting them and filling gaps in the 3 key Consultant Career Development Paths.
* Create and implement learning solutions that feed into the 3 Consultant Career Development Paths.
* Partner with internal Subject Matter Experts to review existing and support the development of new internal technical learning solutions.
* Work with HR to plan and organise a calendar of learning and development opportunities, which aligns with business needs.
* Facilitate virtual and face-to-face workshops including regular Team Leader Forums.
* Work with the wider Ricardo plc to share best practice from one area of the business to another to optimise consistency, business performance, employee engagement and inclusion

Key competencies and experience

* Experience of operating in a complex learning and development role ideally within a Professional Services or other matrix
* Experienced in the design and delivery including facilitation of learning and development interventions across a wide range of learning media; in-person, virtual and digital.
* Ability to quickly form relationships with learners and subject matter experts and work with them to create excellent solutions.
* Capable of managing a portfolio of projects in parallel to move us forward on multiple agendas.
* Pragmatic approach - clear focus on the necessity for any training to fit with the challenges of a fee-earning environment
* Organised starter finisher, with a drive to work autonomously to deliver against set goals.

A high performing communicator, with proven team working and influencing skills.

Desirable:

We do not expect or need you to have all of these experiences and traits but you will need clarity around which you bring and which you don’t, which you’d be interested in developing and which are just not your thing.

* Experience of designing and developing digital learning solutions
* Experience creating or working with buzzing learning communities
* Experience working with 3rd party suppliers
* Experience working with subject matter experts to bring more technical training to life
* An eye for design and making things look great visually
* Great attention to detail and an ability to write well using plain English
* Experience or knowledge of psychometrics and a wealth of behavioural skills knowledge

Given the international nature of our business, a second language would be desirable
