The Client

An opportunity has arisen with our client, an expanding global multidisciplinary consultancy for an individual to join and play a defining role in the expansion of the consultancy within the northern region of the UK.

Our client is a leading global multi disciplinary with a reputation of delivering high value and complex solutions to clients.  The environmental division is expanding and has an established trusted relationship with clients, delivering advisory work across a number of sectors.

Their UK business employs engineering and environmental staff based from a number of locations, and covers a breadth of consulting services structured around service areas from geo-environmental and complex remediation, transactional advice, compliance and environmental impact projects and sustainability through to project finance work.  The extensive client base includes global multinationals, local and central government and international institutions and ranges from local and international development work through to the large high profile projects.

The Role

An exciting opening has arisen for a senior individual to lead the development of the environmental division though out the north of the UK.  With the main offices in Manchester and Leeds, the Senior Management Team has identified the northern region as a focus for investment in resource due to growth potential.  A team is currently in place, however a motivated leader is sought to lead the development of the team and establish the Northern Environmental Team within the business.  

With a reporting line directly to the Senior Management Team, responsibilities will include;

  • ensuring efficient delivery of environmental projects with key clients
  • team development, training and recruitment of the northern environmental team
  • contributing to and overseeing execution of the strategic growth plan
  • strengthening and developing relationships with existing clients
  • raising the profile of the northern team internally and externally and securing new projects  

The Individual

The successful individual will likely have the following;

  • a track record of delivering UK based environmental projects
  • an up to date technical knowledge of EIA or sub chapters
  • be based in the north of England, and have a local knowledge of business within this region
  • the ability to translate technical conversations in a commercial way

In addition, a successful individual will have the desire to capitalise on the opportunity of playing a key role in a respected organisation as this is a high profile position  Our client has had a particularly good year in terms growth and has a well established footprint of loyal clients, typically providing an interesting variety of projects.  

In addition to this, they are forecasting an increase in business within the north with some high profile projects which they have an interest in, which should further support growth. 

The successful candidate would have the opportunity to join this organisation at an opportune time and mould a team with a high degree of autonomy.
