An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Ornithologists to join the offshore ornithology team of a growing consultancy that holds a strong position in the market. You would be joining an influential leadership team who are key decision makers and well-known in the industry. The consultancy has recently acquired a business, opening up a whole new network of clients and projects. With lots of varied opportunities, there is significant flexibility to choose projects of personal interest.

There is also lots of flexibility regarding location. This post is offered fully remote, with a network of offices across the UK, however as the flagship offices are in Glasgow and Devon, those locations would be of real interest. Alongside this, there is potential for international work as well, with the business having recently expanded into the US. The consultancy also has offices in Australia and Ireland.

Key responsibilities:

* Carrying out a variety of ornithological assessments involved in the EIA and HRA processes required for the development of Offshore Wind Farms
* Offering expertise and guidance to more junior staff
* Liaising with stakeholders as necessary
* Managing large-scale projects and members of the team
* The option to get involved in active business development, contributing to the growth of pipeline and opportunities within the team


* Degree in a relevant subject (MSc preferred)
* At least 5 years of experience related to offshore seabird ecology (experience can be research, consultancy or governmental)
* Understanding of the EIA and HRA processes involved in the development of offshore wind farms
* Experience liaising with stakeholders and regulators
