Advanced Engineering Solutions Limited (AES) is expanding its advisory services in the water sector. We are seeking a commercially driven Water Sector Consultant to join our team and help propel our growth in this area. Ideally, candidates will have experience in pipeline engineering. This role is based at our Cramlington office in the North-East of England.
The Role
AES is highly respected by Water Utilities and Industrial Water users for its industry expertise and strategic advice on the long-term health and critical risk factors of client assets. This role will primarily focus on supporting our Water Industry division by maintaining our current projects and exploring new opportunities with UK Water Companies as they embark on the next Asset Management Plan (AMP) cycle.
As a Water Sector Consultant, your primary responsibility will be to leverage your expertise in pipeline engineering, materials science, and structural analysis to lead the expansion of our consultancy business. You will play a key role in helping clients make informed decisions about their asset investments, maintenance and critical risk factors.
Additionally, you will oversee the delivery of condition assessment reports and work on maximising the commercial value of the assessment data AES holds.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive the growth of AES’s consultancy business within the water sector.
• Support ongoing work streams and identify new business opportunities with UK Water Companies.
• Lead the delivery of condition assessment reports, ensuring high-quality outputs.
• Commercialise the value of AES’s assessment data to enhance client offerings.
What you will Need:
• Proven experience in growing a consultancy practice or a strong interest in doing so.
• Bachelor’s degree in general, civil, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in pipeline engineering, structural engineering, and stress analysis,(preferably within the water sector.)
• Some background in materials science and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in quantitative data analysis.
• Chartered Engineer status desirable.
