Opportunity:

Are you looking for that next step on your Ecological career path? Join this award-winning multidisciplinary practice and find your path to success. This role centres itself around the opportunity to work on a wide range of engaging, unique projects across the UK, carrying out different ecological surveys and producing high-quality reports. You’ll be at the forefront of new developments, liaising with clients, working alongside other environmental specialists and making a positive impact upon the environment all whilst enjoying a 4-day week on a 5-day week equivalent salary! This means you’ll have an extra day in the week to spend with friends, family or by yourself, to focus on personal or professional growth.

As previously stated, your responsibilities will be focused on your involvement in various projects, adopting a different approach to alternating sets of project briefs, with no two projects ever being the same, keeping you as a specialist on your toes and engaged. You should expect to handle surveys and technical reports like Protected Species Surveys, UKHabs, EcIAs, BNG assessments and support on aspects of EIAs when required. You can also expect to be taking a client facing role, assisting with fee proposals and tender documentation, acting as a point of contact for stakeholders and generally liaising with company clientele.

Requirements:

To have the best chance of success within this position, you’ll need to have proven experience with the above-mentioned responsibilities. A strong, working understanding of standard practices relating to surveying and technical report writing is essential, meaning the ideal applicant will have 2 years of experience working as an ecologist. Alongside this practical knowledge, you will also need to have a working knowledge of UK legislature and policy framework relating to UK wildlife and demonstrable experience in organising and leading a variety of surveys.
