We are seeking a Hydraulic Modeller to join a growing Water and Wastewater Team based in Derby. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, from drainage design and surface water management to the development of sustainable urban infrastructure. You will be part of a large, collaborative, and multi-disciplinary team that serves clients across the UK and internationally, including water companies, local authorities, and developers. The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the water industry, with a focus on environmental sustainability, and who is eager to grow their career in a supportive and innovative environment.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of the Irish and UK water industries, with a focus on environmental sustainability.
  • Demonstrable experience in wastewater modeling using InfoWorks ICM.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Working towards a professional qualification in a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and analyse hydraulic models to investigate flooding and environmental issues.
  • Contribute to the design of drainage systems, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), and other surface water management solutions.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to provide water and wastewater infrastructure services.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and project deliverables to clients and stakeholders.
  • Support survey planning and supervision to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
  • Assist in developing innovative and sustainable solutions for complex environmental challenges.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of technical standards and practices within the team.
