Chartered Landscape Architect looking for your next role in consultancy?

Are you looking to progress your career in a dynamic environment filled with potential?

Do you desire more f reedom, independence and self-motivation in your work?

Do you have between 3 and 30 years' experience ? (ie. anyone of any level can apply for this role because the level of opportunity is open!)

If the answer to these questions is YES , please apply below!

Our client is a multidisciplinary practice based in beautiful Wiltshire that offers the full range of professional planning and design services. You will be working with chartered surveyors, town planners, architects, other landscape architects, urban designers and environmental specialists to deliver a wide range of projects across residential, commercial, urban/rural mixed use, leisure and tourism, retail, education and renewable energy.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and successful Landscape Architect to join this successful and well regarded business (anything for Consultant through to Director level depending upon experience).

Already operating at experienced professional level, you will become a key player in the company's expanding landscape team and also potentially the lead on the overall delivery of Landscape and Urban Design either immediately or in the future, taking a creative and technical role in delivering landscape design and planning services throughout all stages of major project development.

You will be a competent and driven Landscape Architect and will ideally have gained professional experience in designing and implementing projects within a multi-disciplinary environment. You will be required to deliver (or assist in the delivery of) the landscape elements of projects across the business and lead small project teams throughout the design process from the development brief stage through to completion.

This is a vital role within the organisation and could potentially be a leadership/Director level role for the right candidate but could equally be a role for a less experienced Consultant looking to widen their skills base and career potential.

Dependent on experience, you may also be responsible for growing and managing new business from existing and prospective clients as well as delivering on existing projects and leading a small team of technicians and external consultants.

Essential criteria

  • You will hold a degree in Landscape Architecture or related discipline;
  • You will be a chartered member of the Landscape Institute, or close to achieving this status
  • Design experience with Landscape Architecture-led projects with emphasis on detailed design, knowledge of materials and specifications is essential;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficient with the use of AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (mainly Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator), SketchUp, MS Office and any other presentation software skills as well as general understanding of relevant IT techniques;
  • Able to produce comprehensive, well presented and accurate drawings and reports;
  • Passionate attitude towards design, commitment towards work and capable of managing own tasks, costs and meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to bring innovative, creative, engaging and comprehensive “place-making” ideas to projects;
  • A creative attitude towards innovative and engaging graphical presentation and communication.

Desirable criteria

  • Hand sketching and other emotive presentation skills that could contribute to communicating design ideas more effectively;
  • Additional qualifications or knowledge and experience in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design or town planning.

In return, my client will offer the successful candidate a competitive salary commensurate with experience, alongside excellent benefits and career development opportunities. At Director level, there is the opportunity to be an equity holder in the company too and to become a key decision-maker in the future of the business.
