This conservation charity is looking for a dynamic team player to help develop the work of this innovative and inspirational project working alongside their Community Engagement officer. Duties will include developing and leading a programme of volunteer activities, recruiting new volunteers and supporting all those who participate in the project.

Conservation Officer (Transforming lives and landscapes – community action for the Salthill stream in Slough)
Location: Based in Slough Borough Council, Slough
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (flexible working hours)
Salary: £16,362 per annum (FTE £27,270)

The post is a fixed term 12 month contract with strong potential for extension depending on future funding support for the project.

The successful applicant will be resourceful and have excellent organisational and people skills.

You will be working with schools and community groups to ensure the widest participation of the Slough community in this exciting project. You will lead an innovative volunteer and conservation programme which places people at the heart of the “Transforming lives and landscapes – community action for the Salthill stream” project, bringing health and well-being benefits for people, enhancing community cohesion and the creation of amazing new wetlands.

This conservation charity protects wetlands for wildlife and people. For 70 years they have been pioneers in saving threatened wetland wildlife across the globe and are experts in wetland management and creation. They work with communities living among some of the most vulnerable wetlands in the world, providing leadership and influence to create a sustainable future for our wetlands, their wildlife and the people who depend upon them. They believe that showing people first-hand how extraordinary wetlands are can ignite their passion to help conserve them, so they provide amazing experiences at their unique UK wetland centres for over one million visitors every year.
