Job Summary
Our multidisciplinary Chesterfield office is located within easy commuting distance of the vibrant cities of Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby and on the fringe of the Peak District National Park. Our Water Team is involved in high profile infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas and locally significant projects for the Environment Agency and Local Authorities.

As a result of our continued success and growth, we are seeking a senior hydraulic modeller to join our established Water team in Chesterfield. As a Senior Consultant, you will provide support and lead on a range of modelling projects including flood defence schemes, Flood Risk Assessments and flood modelling studies working with both private and public sector clients and utilising a range of different modelling approaches and practices. 

Job Duties:

Technical Lead on flood risk modelling and hydrology projects for private and public sector clients;
Undertake quality assurance and technical reviews of modelling and hydrology studies; 
Lead in the technical development of team members; 
Manage and prepare flood risk management / modelling bids, including methodology, cost estimation, risk assessment and programming resources; 
Undertake Project Manager duties for flood risk management / modelling projects, using internal systems and with Clients, including change control adopting Early Warnings and Compensation Events; 
Investigation and assessment of fluvial and coastal flood risk issues; and,
Contribute to a range of projects using your modelling experience, including engineering designs and solutions.

Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this role we're looking for candidates with the following;Modelling experience in a consulting firm working on flood projects in both the public and private sectors;
Managing projects, delegating tasks and technical mentoring;
Experience in preparing, delivering and winning technical modelling proposals;
Direct liaison with Clients
Detailed working knowledge of hydraulic modelling software, such as InfoWorks ICM, FloodModeller Pro and / or Tuflow
Detailed working knowledge of hydrological software, including FEH and ReFH
Understanding of Environment Agency and / or Water Company modelling procedures 
Project / Task Management

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering or Environmental field.
Chartered, or nearing Chartership, with a relevant institution e.g. CIWEM or ICE
