Job Summary
Our multidisciplinary Chesterfield office is located within easy commuting distance of the vibrant cities of Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby and on the fringe of the Peak District National Park. Our Water Team is involved in high profile infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas including significant local projects for the Environment Agency and Local Authorities.

As a result of our continued success and growth, we are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our established Water Engineering team in Chesterfield. As a Senior Flood Risk and Water Engineer, you will manage the technical and commercial aspects of projects from feasibility to detailed design and be able to carry out technical reviews of calculations, drawings and other design aspects over a varied portfolio of engineering projects including flood risk management appraisals, Flood Risk Assessments and outline / detailed engineering design projects, working with both private and public sector clients.

Job Duties:

Lead on engineering aspects of flood risk management and water industry projects including leading multidisciplinary project teams;
Project Manager for a portfolio of projects in the Water Business Line for private and public sector clients;
Deliver projects to budget, programme and quality expectations;
Manage the successful commercial delivery of projects, using internal systems to monitor and manage commercial performance and ensure robust contractual management;
Ensure that projects meet client expectations, managing the relationship with the client throughout the project lifecycle;
Manage and prepare bids and tenders, including methodology, cost estimation, risk assessment and programming resources;
Assist in the efficient running of the Chesterfield Water Engineering Team, including the personnel and technical development and mentoring of team members.

Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates with the following;Experience of undertaking engineering assessments, calculations, and producing reports, drawings and contract documents relating to flood risk management and water industry projects;
Successful delivery of complex and challenging projects, preferably in a consultancy environment;
Commercial project management experience using internal systems to deliver profitable projects;
Proficient in managing NEC contracts (especially PSC and ECC), with demonstrable experience in change control (Early Warnings / Compensation Events);
Adept in client relationship management;
Experience of leading on or contributing to large bids and tenders;

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering or Environmental field.
Chartered, or nearing Chartership, with a relevant institution e.g. CIWEM or ICE
Experience of working for an Environment Agency WEM Consultant or Water Company Framework Consultant in a related role (desirable); 
Experience of preparing FRAs and Surface Water Drainage Strategies for developers including the design of SUDS features and attenuation ponds (desirable)
