Stakeholder and Public Affairs Manager – Energy

The Crown Estate is a £13bn real estate business with an actively managed portfolio of high-quality assets in great locations.

We specialise in commercial property in central London, prime retail across the country and offshore wind. We also have a substantial rural and coastal portfolio and manage the seabed and around England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Established by an Act of Parliament as an independent commercial business, we return all our profit to HM Treasury, totalling £2.6bn over the last ten years. We have also outperformed the market for nearly a decade.

Our purpose is to create brilliant places through conscious commercialism. This means we take a long term-view and an astute, considered, collaborative approach that helps us create success for our business and those we work with.

We have a wide range of high profile international partners and customers, including a number of global sovereign wealth and pension funds. Corporately, our significant stakeholders include HM Treasury and the Royal Household.

As managers of the seabed around England, Wales and Northern Ireland, The Crown Estate works closely with industry and stakeholders to identify sites for sustainable development and awards seabed rights for offshore renewable energy, as well as cables and pipelines and marine aggregates.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Energy, Minerals and Infrastructure portfolio and specifically supporting The Crown Estate’s work with the offshore wind sector and stakeholders to consider making new seabed rights available to offshore wind developers.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Stakeholder & Public Affairs Manager to help support this exciting work and meet the broader stakeholder and communication objectives of the Energy, Minerals and Infrastructure portfolio.

The successful candidate will develop and implement an integrated communications and engagement campaign to support our role in the offshore wind, through corporate communications, media, political and stakeholder engagement.

You will be part of the Public Affairs & Community team delivering excellent engagement and communications with stakeholders across The Crown Estate’s business portfolios as part of the Corporate Affairs strategy.

Your experience will span a political, communications and/or campaigning environment from agency or in house, influencing and providing strategic advice to senior leaders. You will have an excellent working knowledge of the media, Whitehall and Westminster and be able to build credible relationships quickly and have the motivation and passion for a high amount of individual responsibility. Experience in the energy sector and/or working to support large infrastructure projects is essential.
