National Formal Learning Manager
Slimbridge - Commutable from Stroud, Bristol & Gloucester
37.5 hours per week
£35,780 per annum

In our high tech society, this organisation believe it is more important than ever to encourage children to get outdoors and connect with the natural world to motivate them to care for our fragile planet. Their tradition of inspiring young people, many visiting their centres on a school trip, is just as strong today as when Sir Peter Scott set up the organisation in 1946, with education being one of their core aims.

Because their formal learning visitors are so important to them, they’re looking for someone exceptional to lead this aspect of the charity’s work across all their UK wetland centres and sometimes beyond.  You will be responsible for leading on strategic development and you will relish the prospect of providing guidance and support for their committed teams of staff and volunteers who work with young learners. You’ll be a natural communicator, a self-starter, great at project management and well versed in learning work in a visitor attraction setting.  Ideally, you will have experience in an advisory role in a multi-site organisation.

This organisation is a conservation charity that protects wetlands for wildlife and people. They conserve, restore and create wetlands. They are pioneers in saving wetland wildlife, both in the UK and around the world. At their 10 UK sites around a million visitors a year engage with wetland nature. They work internationally in key global wetland areas, balancing conservation with sustainable livelihoods and influencing national and international conservation policies.

In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing to 30 days after 5 years service)
  • Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
  • Life assurance
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Free parking
  • Free entry to all centres
