About Us

May Walters is a boutique search consultancy specialising in senior positions within the environmental sector.

The Client

An opportunity has arisen with our client, an established consultancy for an individual to join the team.

Our client is a multi disciplinary with a reputation of delivering high value and complex solutions to clients.  The organisation has a number of established service lines from compliance, environmental management, ecology, noise and air solutions and they are known primarily for their work on contaminated land solutions.  Their client footprint is well established within the development, manufacturing and industrial sector and they have a strong network of partner and client relationships with credible case studies.

Increased client demand  has expanded the team significantly over the last few years and there is a requirement for an Associate Director to assist in the development of the contaminated land division.

Reporting directly to the board, a motivated individual is sought, who will be able to lead the team of geo-environmentalists within the UK and further grow the division.  It would be expected that the successful individual would take the lead on developing larger accounts and setting the strategy for winning new business moving forward.  Operationally you will be required to allocate resource to ensure that projects are delivered up to specification and mentor the team to encourage development.

The team is spread throughout the UK, albeit most of the organisations business growth is within the south east.

The Individual

The successful candidate could be based anywhere within the UK, albeit would be prepared to spend at least some time in the south east.

They would be expected to have;

Relevant qualifications and charterships (or be progressing)

A track record of delivering contaminated land investigations or similar projects within the UK

A good client facing manner and be able to demonstrate client development

A desire to lead and motivate a successful team

In return, a competitive package will be offered but also a chance to develop a rewarding career.  My client is an expanding organisation and has an excellent, friendly and autonomous culture which supports and develops people internally.  Applications are encouraged from individuals who would value being a part of this.
