Synopsis

An exciting opportunity has arisen with an international, market leading sustainability consultancy, leading their business development team. The role is focused around expanding the consultancy's client base which currently includes the likes of Coca-Cola, Nestle & Enterprise.

About you

You will be a highly experienced commercial professional with a track record of success in business development. You will ideally also have some form of background or experience working in the sustainability sector and possess a strong holistic understanding of sustainability. You will be able to work strategically, working with team leaders across the business to identify new clients and identify the best approach to engaging and converting prospective clients.

About the role

You will manage a team of two, directing and overseeing the marketing and business development objectives of the company, with the responsibility of ensuring a continuous healthy sales pipeline. You will undertake a varied approach to attaining new business which will likely include a combination of networking, direct approaches, marketing campaigns, tendering and pitches.

Role and responsibilities:

* Take responsibility for the organisation’s pipeline of new business
* Arrange and attend client meetings, representing and introducing the organisation
* Work alongside the delivery teams to oversee marketing content
* Work in conjunction with the MD to develop the company’s sales strategy
* Conceptualise and implement though leadership marketing initiatives

Key skills & experience:

* Experience working in a senior business development role
* A strong understanding of sustainability with a natural enthusiasm for the subject
* Target orientated, with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
* Strong commercial acumen, with the drive to identify and convert commercial opportunities
