Phlorum is a dynamic and ambitious environmental consultancy with main offices in Brighton and Manchester. We pride ourselves on our open, honest and friendly approach to our work. We have an impressive base of repeat business and an expanding list of referrals and new contacts who appreciate our expert skills and our proactive, client-focused, professional services.

Our strategic growth requires new staff to support our air quality consultancy expertise. We are looking for a junior consultant to join our team to undertake air pollution dispersion modelling assessments associated with planning applications for proposed development projects.

Our bread-and-butter project work includes predictive modelling for industrial, infra-structure, commercial and residential developments and permit applications using a range of dispersion models and assessment methodologies (e.g. ADMS, Aermod, Screen, Breeze Roads and the DMRB). We also regularly provide odour assessment and air quality monitoring services for a variety of projects including: indoor environments; restaurants; occupational exposure reporting; and impacts from contaminated land remediation. The bulk of our work is UK-based but we currently undertake some projects in the Middle East and Africa.

Good communication with clients on the phone and in person is essential for the role, as is the ability to handle large amounts of numerical data and to write clear and concise technical reports to a high standard. Experience of using GIS packages would be desirable.

A degree in an environmental/geographical discipline, preferably with a focus on atmospheric chemistry, would be particularly useful. However, another science, engineering or mathematical degree, along with an interest in the environment would also be desirable. Candidates need to be based in the UK and readily available for immediate interview, in person.

Please send your CV and a covering letter explaining why you would be perfect for this role to: paul.beckett@phlorum.com
