About the company:

Eunomia Research & Consulting is an independent and ethical environmental consultancy. We are a mission oriented business and our goal is to be influential in bringing about positive change: we embrace this in all that we do.

We specialise in the fields of waste management, resource efficiency, circular economy, low carbon energy, marine planning, natural economy and climate change mitigation. With the continuous increase of environmental issues across today’s headlines, these fields are gaining momentum on a global scale and like our specialisms, we too are growing as a business. Eunomia currently has over 80 employees worldwide, working across a range of offices throughout the UK and Europe, New York and Auckland.

We are appointed advisors to numerous blue-chip companies, private equity funds and lenders. We also work with a broad range of organisations from trans-national bodies such as the OECD, UNEP and the European Union, through to national governments, local authorities and business support organisations (including Scottish Enterprise, Zero Waste Scotland, WRAP). Our ability to think creatively in a commercial context alongside our reputation for being at the leading edge of emerging environmental policy and good practice, allows us to effectively and efficiently focus our client support and advisory services.

Our desire to lead by example, and our enthusiastic and supportive team, makes Eunomia a stimulating and rewarding place to work.

Job description:

We are looking for an environmental consultant with at least five years’ experience in consultancy or within a business sector, working primarily with businesses on resource efficiency (RE) and sustainability projects, including what are now termed circular economy (CE) opportunities, both practically oriented or with a policy/strategy focus. You will be used to both working on projects under a project manager and managing projects yourself.

It is important that you have a practical understanding of both the policy and business contexts and the related challenges facing businesses and be able to provide practical advice and support in helping them to address these. The ability to identify and help implement efficiency savings and new business models is particularly important. We need a creative problem solver and have the aptitude to see where the underlying problems lie and the communication skills to be able to articulate these insights in a clear and persuasive fashion.

The role would be UK-based but could well involve international work from time to time. The level of experience will determine the salary.

  • Project management activities (potentially a few projects simultaneously):
  • Ensuring timely technical project input is received from technical leads;

  • Assignment of team responsibilities;
  • Project team and client communications;
  • Coordination and delivery of tasks in order to meet the required outcomes of the project;

Person specification:

We’re looking for a well-organised and ambitious self-starter who will help us to capitalise on our reputation, our existing contracts and contacts, our tools and our expertise to help us build and deliver our expanding sustainable business and circular economy services. The candidate needs to be confident, with a positive outlook and determination to help businesses to change their operations for the environmental and social good. A personal interest in, and commitment to, environmental and sustainability issues is expected.
