We now have an exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the South West's leading employers as a Principal Scientist to join our team.

This role can be based in Bournemouth or Exeter with frequent travel between the two.

The Role

The Principal Scientist will provide high quality technical support to Operations in all areas of water supply from source to tap, ensuring that the public health of the customer base is protected. You will ensure that existing assets are optimised and maintained in such a way to meet current financial and water quality requirements.

The Principal Scientist will advise and influence the Asset Owner of the current and emerging Regulatory Framework, minimising the Company's exposure to risk by developing short and medium term solutions with the Asset Manager.

You will manage the resolution of customer enquiries relating to water quality ensuring the needs and expectations of the customer, regulator and business are met. You will also liaise with the Drinking Water Quality Regulator and ensure all monitoring and reporting duties are effectively delivered to a very high standard.

The Ideal Principal Scientist:

 *Relevant scientific degree *In depth knowledge and understanding of the relevant water quality and environmental legislation *Committed to managing and promoting a strong team and supporting self development *Advanced computing and presentation skills *Ideally, corporate membership of a relevant scientific professional body for example IWA chartered scientist, CIWEM, RSC *Full UK Driving licence
