SHEQ Co-ordinator – Widnes, Cheshire

The Role: SHEQ Co-ordinator
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £20k - £24K, dependant on experience
Perm or Temp: Permanent

WSR Recycling operates a busy, non-hazardous waste transfer and treatment operation from its base in Widnes, Cheshire. The organisation is enjoying rapid expansion and is seeking a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Co-ordinator to support the SHEQ Manager in the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the site. 

With the support and guidance of the SHEQ Manager, as SHEQ Co-ordinator you will: 

• Maintain a strong, organised and compliant technical base for the company.
• Collate, manipulate and accurately log various data, records and reports.
• Ensure retention of the International Standards the company holds by developing and maintaining the Integrated Management System.
• Respond to customer and supplier queries and resolve information requests and communications.
• Produce documents for internal circulation e.g. meeting minutes, toolbox talks, training records and incident investigations.
• Develop and take ownership of pragmatic, efficient solutions to issues that pose an obstruction to the safe and compliant operation of the site.
• Liaise with all departments and assist managers in the development and implementation of training and skills requirements.
• Make site inspections to ensure compliance with the relevant legislative and quality requirements

This varied and challenging role carries a high level of autonomy. You will be required to work independently, under guidance and assertively in a faced paced environment to achieve the required outcomes. Experience, skills and qualifications:


• I.T. Literate with a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.) 
• Experience of engaging with customers/ suppliers 
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills;
• The ability to interpret and manipulate data and reports and draw conclusions in the context of the working environment.
• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.


• Experience of waste operations, permitting and associated legislation
• Experience of International Standards, particularly Environmental, Health and Safety and Quality.
• Risk assessment experience 
• Nationally recognised H&S qualification e.g. IOSH/ NVQ etc.
