Job Summary

You will be responsible for ensuring that sites are: safe, well lead, built to specification and executed on time. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all onsite health and safety, budget management, call offs, scheduling, build quality and price control as necessary.

Projects will initially be large scale roof top solar installations but in time may include ground mount solar installations. Future projects may include housing construction.

The right person may not possess all of the key skills and technical experience, but they must be an utterly trustworthy leader who can inspire teams to over perform.


Responsibilities of the role

  • Work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to plan the project objectives and develop site plans
  • Review all contractor RAMS
  • Ensure that the project meets the specification and design, including the management of build quality
  • Forecasting, planning and over-seeing all site-based activities to meet schedule
  • Lead, supervise, motivate and manage all site-based operatives
  • Produce site reports for the Project Manager when required
  • Responsible for coordination of materials, machinery, stock control and site welfare
  • Attend and contribute to project update meetings as required
  • Identify site risks and put plans in place to minimise likelihood of occurrence
  • Maintain good relationships with clients and suppliers

Key Skills

  • Uncompromising commitment to the safety of people working on or visiting your site
  • Leadership skills to motivate teams to excel and take pride in their work
  • A responsible and professional manager who can meet objectives without supervision
  • 2+ years relevant industry experience in a leadership role
  • SMSTS and First Aid preferred
  • Experience working on and delivering similar projects
  • Experience of managing sites to time, cost and quality objectives
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and able to receive delegated accountability and then delegate tasks appropriately within a site team
  • Self-motivated and resilient under pressure with excellent organisational skills
  • Hardworking, good humoured, flexible and reliable with good attention to detail
  • Customer focused with excellent relationship management skills
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft packages with intellectual capacity to learn new systems

The salary for this role is very competitive and dependent on experience. The contract will be for a fixed term
