Maintenance Manager – Bargeddie Materials Recycling Facilities (MRF)

At Viridor, we're investing in state-of-the-art recycling facilities, allowing for a wider range of products to be recycled. Our Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) are some of the biggest and most advanced of their kind in Europe. Our MRFs across the UK use a combination of advanced mechanical sorting and manual quality control to separate materials into individual streams, ready to be put back to work. Our investment in technology allows us to operate at the highest quality, environmental, energy efficiency and health and safety standards.

Our MRF in Bargeddie is currently undergoing construction and is central to Scotland's ambition to deliver a zero waste, circular economy which encourages waste reduction, boosts recycling and recovers vital renewable energy from what remains while also reducing taxpayer exposure to costly landfill levies.

Our new MRF in Bargeddie will require an experienced Maintenance Manager to be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of the site Maintenance Strategy. Working in partnership with the production management team, the Maintenance Manager will coordinate all activities and optimise plant availability, compliance, performance and quality.

As our new Maintenance Manager, you'll prioritise and plan all maintenance work, ensuring equipment is available, downtime is minimised, and standards are exceeded. You'll provide engineering expertise to key stakeholders and ensure all contract work schedules are effective and completed within budget and performance criteria. You will also deliver multiyear plans and capital expenditure projects.

You're strong influencing and relationship -building skills will ensure solid working relationships with suppliers and our own teams and stakeholders across the business. And your experience in evaluating equipment reliability leading to Root Cause Analysis and subsequent improvement activity will be critical.

Our Maintenance Manager will have the relevant engineering background preferably within process, production or manufacturing environment and be able to actively demonstrate management experience. Knowledge of safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulations, a strategic and best practice approach to engineering and maintenance and experience of managing budgets.

You'll be an excellent communicator, confident and able to make decisions in the absence of leaders. Highly organised with an analytical approach to problem solving.

It is essential to have a full UK driving license for this role.
