Production Manager – Bargeddie Materials Recycling Facilities (MRF)

At Viridor, we're investing in state-of-the-art recycling facilities, allowing for a wider range of products to be recycled. Our Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) are some of the biggest and most advanced of their kind in Europe. Our MRFs across the UK use a combination of advanced mechanical sorting and manual quality control to separate materials into individual streams, ready to be put back to work. Our investment in technology allows us to operate at the highest quality, environmental, energy efficiency and health and safety standards.

Our MRF in Bargeddie is currently undergoing construction and is central to Scotland's ambition to deliver a zero waste, circular economy which encourages waste reduction, boosts recycling and recovers vital renewable energy from what remains while also reducing taxpayer exposure to costly landfill levies.

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join our new Bargeddie MRF to competently plan and manage production activities at Bargeddie Residual Waste Treatment (RWT) plant, ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe, economical and timely manner in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.

The Production Manager will also be responsible for maximising productivity and plant efficiency through active management of production staff, whilst building strong working relationships with the RWT Maintenance Manager, Viridor haulage department and all other teams within Viridor as well as external agencies such as NLC, HSE, SEPA as directed by Lead Unit Manager.

With your previous experience in managing waste facilities and/or MRFs, the Production Manager will maximise recycling and recovery rates, consistently deliver a safe and efficient RWT operation ensuring compliance and continuous improvement is at the forefront of what you do.

You will have strong management skills, able to hold and chair RWT meetings and lead the team; and proven ability to deliver improvements.

You will have previous experience of managing waste facilities and/or MRFs, and preferably experience of liaising with key internal and external stakeholders and regulatory authorities. You'll also have demonstrable knowledge of legislation that relates to the operation of MRF's, ATS and HWRC's. Good knowledge of health and safety regulation and safe systems of work would also be required.

You will require a full UK driving license and hold a relevant COTC.
