As our new Graduate Project Engineer in our Landfill business area, you'll provide project management and delivery assurance to the business enabling it to meet its operational and long-term objectives. You'll also ensure that projects are delivered according to best practice project management techniques and standards appropriate to technical, health and safety, environmental and quality, as well as in line with the scale and type of projects, delivered to the identified business benefits.

As a Graduate Project Engineer, you will manage the day to day aspects of the projects, liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure effective and efficient implementation, driving continuous improvement.

As our new Graduate Project Engineer, you'll have graduated (or have graduated by October 2019) in a relevant engineering discipline such as Geotechnical, Civil, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science) and have experience, within the workplace or studies, of managing projects to set parameters such as time, quality and cost.

You'll have a good understanding of project controls, health and safety, design, procurement, construction and commissioning and the principles of geotechnical engineering.

As you'll be liaising with external bodies such as local authorities, consultants and professional organisations, as well as internal senior management, you'll have strong communication, relationship building and resilience skills. You'll be self-motivated, able to proactively identify opportunities and risk whilst thinking innovatively to resolve where applicable or add value.

The Graduate Project Engineer role will incorporate reporting and financial modelling, therefore good analytical and numerical skills are key as is the ability to balance conflicting priorities whilst meeting deadlines.

Knowledge and experience of the waste management industry would be desirable but not essential.

The role will be based at one of our Landfill locations in the UK, therefore, a willingness to relocate for the duration of the Graduate Programme would be advantageous and as travel to other UK sites will be part of the role, a full UK driving license is essential.
