We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer based at our Glasgow Recycling and Renewable Energy Centre (GRREC).

Mechanical Engineer Role:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the mechanical engineering and maintenance at the Glasgow RREC, in co-operation with the Electrical and C & I Engineers. You'll ensure optimal long-term availability of the plant, preserving the value of the assets and to meet set health and safety, environmental and financial targets.

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for efficient planning and execution of maintenance activities associated with the Glasgow RREC plant, including the stores and workshops management. You'll coordinate, schedule and plan maintenance activities during planned and unplanned shutdowns and manage statutory inspections, ensuring all documentation is completed and up to date.

Work as part of a management team striving for continual improvement, you will ensure the plant Maintenance Management System is utilised to its full potential and that Viridor policies and health, safety and environmental statutory requirements are adhered to.

Our ideal Mechanical Engineer will have:

 *Possess appropriate Engineering qualifications such as HNC (or equivalent) *Knowledge of repair methods of mechanical machinery and material *Experience in working with Permits to Work and Safe System of Work *Excellent communicational skills are required at all levels; both verbally and written *Good organisational skills and the ability to think logically and solve problems effectively *Experience in supervise teams and contractors to deliver agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) *Experience in working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
