Adler and Allan Limited is a provider of specialist environmental and asset management services to a range of businesses that handle, store and utilize hazardous liquids, principally oil-based fuels. The Group's targeted services have been developed to help its customers meet ever increasing regulatory and compliance-related obligations in particular by maintaining the integrity of their assets. A&A's services are performed by its highly skilled and accredited workforce on a planned and reactive basis from service centres around the UK.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and capable Operations Manager to join our team in Manchester.

Operations Manager Responsibilities:

· Ensure all paperwork and documentation is ready for the following working day for all field staff and ensure all company vehicles are clean, tidy and fully road legal. In addition, make sure all correct equipment is on vehicles in order to carry out all duty effectively to completion.

· Facilitate a meeting with Operators at the start and end of the week and prepare a summary for presentation to the Divisional Manager regarding all aspects of operations.

· To allocate jobs and select appropriately trained staff to complete works to a safe and required standard and communicate effectively with all field staff; rearrange any work should this be needed.

· Ensure all iPad, paper work and documentation is ready for the following working day for all field staff.

· Ensure all company vehicles are clean, tidy and fully road legal. It is the postholder's responsibility to ensure any defects, minor or otherwise are reported appropriately.

· Carry out new starter inductions to any new member of staff under the Operations Managers area of responsibility.

· Carry out any site visits necessary to ensure correct and full RAMS are completed.

· Ensuring drivers comply with drivers' hours and tachograph rules and with speed limits; ensuring accuracy of all driver and tacho records and regulations for storing such records.

· Ensuring that authorised vehicles will be kept at the authorised operating centre(s) when not in use;

· Where appropriate, notifying the relevant traffic commissioner (in writing) of all prosecutions and convictions concerning the operator, the drivers and me within 28 days of the court hearing.

· Brief client, colleagues and Divisional Manager in relation to all operations/works.

· Prepare and review Method statements and Risk assessments as required.

· Plan and facilitate regular tool box talks, audits and inspections.

· Liaise and plan alongside the Waste Plant Manager at the Manchester Waste Transfer Station on matters surrounding the disposal of internal derived waste. This will include responsibility for ensuring all documentation associated with waste is correct and compliant.

Operations Manager Requirements:

· 12 months previous experience gained in a similar environment Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to tailor to the target group

· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications

· Demonstrate a full understanding of all associated works.

· Previous managerial and supervisory experience within the industry
