We are looking for a Principal or Senior Ecologist to join one of the UK’s leading environmental consultancies to work on a variety of projects including resolving bat issues in individual homes to delivering all ecological surveys for large-scale complex commercial developments including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.

You will be responsible for the management of your project work including your own technical assessments and reporting outputs, together with establishing and the maintaining ongoing client relationships and coordinating larger project survey requirements. The role could be either full or part time and will be a combination of office and field wok. As a Senior Ecologist you will take the lead on ecological projects in the Edinburgh or Glasgow office.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

As a Senior Ecologist your key responsibilities will include:

* Take on and independently undertake a wide range of project tasks as and when required
* Provide general ecological appraisals, protected species surveys, mitigation design and construction and post-construction supervision and monitoring
* Managing project work within the office, particularly technical assessments and reporting outputs
* Establishing and the maintaining ongoing client relationships

Qualifications / Experience:

To successfully undertake this senior ecologist role you will have;

* A good degree in a relevant subject and a post-graduate qualification
* CIEEM membership (Associate / Full)
* Well established ecological consultant with bat experience with at least a solid background working in ecological consultancy
* Ability to plan and undertake habitat surveys to a high standard and to identify indicator plant species and habitat types
* Full knowledge of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation and best practice survey techniques;
* Full driving licence.
