We are currently seeking a Landscape Architect to join our team in Leeds. As a member of one of the UK’s largest and most diverse landscape practices, you will take a lead on a range of types and sizes of projects, including strategic planning, major infrastructure, urban regeneration and environmental enhancement schemes. You will be offered support to expand your experience and develop your career within a structured, friendly team environment. We will consider applicants with a wide range of experience but a proven track record in UK based landscape design and implementation and landscape planning, including LVIA and TVIA, is preferable. This is an opportunity to join a team which is growing and with strong links across many disciplines.

Job Duties:

The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the job / project accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard:

  • Working with a Project Manager, project management responsibilities, including contractual, financial and programme management.

  • Establish strong working relationships with other members of the landscape team and internal teams across the business.

  • Develop and manage the work of others, including as a P2C mentor.

  • Clear communication, including the ability to write concise technical reports and to contribute to conference calls, meetings and workshops.

  • Be client facing and respond to client requirements.

  • Produce or oversee the production of drawings and other technical documentation using appropriate software, with the necessary level of detail as required at various stages of development: strategies, conceptual design, detailed design and production information.

  • Input into tender submissions

  • Have the technical ability, knowledge and competence to provide guidance to teach and develop junior staff.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary design team.

  • Be aware of and understand the AECOM procedures, their importance and their application to projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Post Chartership experience.

  • Experience of detailed landscape design and preparation of tender documentation

  • Experience of preparing landscape and/or townscape and visual impact assessments and appraisals

  • Experience of contract administration and managing projects will be useful, including financial control and reporting and programme management.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK legal and planning system with respect to landscape architecture.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

  • The successful candidate will be competent in the use of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud software.

  • Experience of some or all of the following would also be very useful: ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civils 3D, Revit, LSS and ProjectWise.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Landscape Institute accredited Bachelor’s degree, Diploma and/or Master’s degree.

  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.
