ERF Process Performance Engineer

Are you an experienced process and performance engineer looking to take on a new challenge?

Viridor is one of the UK's leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management companies. Part of the FTSE 250 Pennon Group, Viridor puts waste into action, transforming it into high quality recyclables, raw materials and energy. This is an exciting time to work at Viridor. We are at the forefront of the UK's green economy and we use smart people and technology to deliver our vision, bringing people together to give the world's resources new life.

Fast growing and investing over £1.2bn in the development of a network of state-of-the-art Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs) across the UK, we're already established as the second largest operator in the UK and looking to become the largest. The ERFs reduce the reliance on landfill or the need to export waste abroad for treatment, whilst becoming a sustainable revenue generating business.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced ERF Process Performance Engineer at our Ardley ERF to work within our Performance Management Group to further improve the performance of our fleet of ERFs.

The Role:

Joining our team, the ERF Process Performance Engineer will work in conjunction with Operations in delivering high performance across the Company's fleet of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs) by providing root cause analysis of operational problems and deliver reliable technical solutions to maintain high performance and availability. You will also identify ongoing performance trends in order to better schedule preventative maintenance.

You'll provide specialist technical input in the form of feasibility studies and solution designs, production designs, specifications and budgets for specific new power generation projects and small-scale works. This include supporting Major Projects with specialist technical advice in building and commissioning new facilities and in overseeing the work of specialist consultants and suppliers.

The ERF Process Performance Engineer will analyse ERF process performance in associations with industry best practice and identify changes to operations / equipment modifications that would maximise thermal efficiency and waste throughput.

You'll benchmark performance of the Viridor ERF fleet and target facilities that are underperforming and determine reasons for any deficiency.
