Wessex Water is one the top performing water and sewerage companies in the UK, serving 2.8 million customers across the south west of England. It is part of the Wessex Water Group, which comprises a number of other companies alongside our regulated business, including engineering and construction, property development and waste management and renewable energy services. 

This varied and busy role involves working in the water supply regulation team to ensure public health and water quality is protected at all times. As a senior member of the team, you will be dealing with all aspects of drinking water quality and will be providing technical advice to the business on drinking water regulations. Working with external organisations such as local authorities, Public Health England and our regulators will be an important aspect of the role and as such excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. 

As water quality adviser, you will oversee programmes of work and take the lead on investigating and reporting events. This is a highly varied and exciting role for somebody who is already involved with water quality and wanting to use their skills in a regulatory environment. 

Skills and qualifications:

* Full clean driving licence.
* Educated to degree level in a science related subject.
* Ideally, you will be working towards being a member of a professional chartered organisation.
* You will have at least three years' scientific experience within the water industry with a good technical understanding of water supply and an awareness of the importance of public health and water quality.
* Knowledge of the requirements of water supply (water quality) regulations and water supply (water fittings) regulations.
* Awareness of European legislation and World Health Organization guidance.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
