This is an interesting opportunity for a Senior Ecologist and/or a Consultant Ecologist to join a market leading construction and infrastructure consultancy, who deliver services to clients across transport, infrastructure, property and energy markets. With a nationwide client base this company is wanting to strengthen their team in the London and Midlands region.

As an ecologist, you will be involved in a variety of project work both in the office and in the field. This will include habitat, vegetation and protected species surveys, watching briefs and assisting with EcIAs. If you have a passion for ecology and conservation and have demonstrable ecological experience within a consultancy environment then we’d love to hear from you.

Role & Company:

During your day to day you will be involved with an extensive portfolio of ecology schemes for construction and development projects. You will lead a plethora of field surveys, analyse the data and contribute the EIA’s and environmental statement reports and work towards your charter ship. Alongside this, you will be carrying out site practical habitat creation and management work and be involved with the commercial aspects of project management.

Depending on your level of expertise and experience you with mentor junior members of the team, manage small to medium scale projects and bids, build client relationships and develop your skills and management techniques to gain more responsibility and progress in your career.

Qualifications & Experience:

* An appropriate degree(s)
* Associate IEEM Membership
* Competency in the survey of one or more key protected species: great crested newts, badgers, reptiles, dormice, water voles, birds
* Demonstrable relevant work experience covering Phase 1 and habitat surveys, EIA
* Proven report writing capabilities including Phase 1 survey reports, protected species survey reports and assisting with ES chapters
* Attention to detail and accuracy and excellent communication skills
* Full clean driving licence.

Desirable experience and qualifications include;

* Holder of at least one EPS license
* CSCS Card
