Opportunity

Our client is currently seeking a Transport Planner to join their Transport Planning Team in London. The successful candidate will undertake development planning work, providing advice to private clients and local authorities on the access and transportation issues associated with development proposals spanning the residential, retail, educational, health, leisure, commercial and industrial sectors. You will have the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams consisting of environmental specialists, water engineers, rail engineers and highways engineers.

Responsibilities

* Provide technical transport planning expertise to private developers, highways agencies and local authorities
* Support transport planning projects including; transport assessments, travel plans, transport policy and strategies, transport research, project appraisal, accessibility studies and parking studies
* Undertake technical analysis using a range of software packages, including junction assessment/ design (ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRANSYT), trip generation (TRICS) and microsimulation (Paramics)
* Preparation of high quality technical reports and proposals

Skills/Requirements

* You will have experience of managing and delivering development planning projects including transport assessments and statements.
* Your experience to date will have included a combination of some of the following areas of transport planning, with a number at significant depth: transport policy and strategy; travel plans, development control, traffic/travel survey planning & procurement, and junction modelling.
* You will have a detailed understanding of UK transport policy and practice and the ability to convert that understanding into practical solutions for our clients are essential.
* You will have significant experience of using industry standard software and databases e.g LINSIG, ARCADY, TRANSYT, and TRICS.
* You will have a firm grasp of DfT Transport Assessment guidance and DMRB Web Tag requirements.
