Fast growing and investing over £1.2bn in the development of a network of state-of-the-art Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs) across the UK, we're already established as the second largest operator in the UK and looking to become the largest. The ERFs reduce the reliance on landfill or the need to export waste abroad for treatment, whilst becoming a sustainable revenue generating business. 

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role will require travel to all our Northern Energy recovery Facility (ERF) sites; but will primarily be based from either Dunbar or Glasgow.

The Role:

The ERF Principal Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the testing, repair, maintenance, and root cause analysis for all electrical equipment across the Northern ERF fleet. This includes providing support to existing ERF electrical teams, using relevant experience and skills, thereby standardising maintenance activity. You'll create detailed scopes of work ready to be sent out to tender, striving for best available techniques (BAT) and continuous improvement.

You will need to be able to cultivate a close working relationship with the ERF Principal Electrical Engineer (South), as well as the rest of the Central Engineering Team.

This position will require response to plant and equipment breakdowns both during normal working hours and outside of them; therefore, a flexible approach to working hours is essential.

The ideal Principal Electrical Engineer:

 *Extensive and proven knowledge in the ERF or Power Generation Business *Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental responsibility to promote positive HS&E culture *Possess appropriate Engineering qualifications such as HNC / HND, Electrical Engineering Degree *BS7671 - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certified *Experience in switching and maintaining HV & LV apparatus within ERF industry or power plants *Knowledge of repair methods of Electrical equipment *Experience working with Computerised Maintenance Management systems *Hold a position of Senior Authorised Person (SAP) or Prime Duty Holder and qualified to work on both LV and HV electrical systems *Experience working with and 3rd party contractors to deliver to planned programme of work *Full driving licence
