An opportunity has arisen for a prospective Head of Town Planning & Strategy working on environmental projects for a developer on an 18 month maternity cover.

This organisation are unlike any other: a developer with an international remit specialising in constructing solar farms in key global markets. Your role will be to manage this international team (the majority in London) providing expert town planning guidance to the team and other internal stakeholders on complex developments. You will take a lead in community and political management around the projects, creating and implementing the team’s engagement strategy. On large projects of national significance, you’ll be expected to manage the process and strategy while the development is on site.

This international developer have roots in 12 markets around the world, and ideally seek candidates who have a strong understanding, if not experience, in the similarities and differences of different planning systems. This is a great opportunity for an experienced manager and planner to lead on major, climate conscious developments globally. You’ll be tasked with helping the team see further growth on the back of a very strong couple of years. This role will also provide the successful applicant a position within an incredibly secure company, well suited to mitigate any trials thrown up by Brexit, given its international scope.

Qualifications & Experience:


* Management experience at a senior level.
* Minimum 10 years town planning experience – including experience in managing major development projects.
* Significant experience working in the private sector.
* Relevant town planning degree from the UK or internationally.


* International planning experience is not required, but you will expected to understand key differences between global planning systems.
* Ideally experience working within environmental, renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
* Experience with national and international EIA/SEIA processes would aid any application.
