Our Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) are some of the biggest and most advanced of their kind in Europe. Our MRFs across the UK use a combination of advanced mechanical sorting and manual quality control to separate materials into individual streams, ready to be put back to work. Our investment in technology allows us to operate at the highest quality, environmental, energy efficiency and health and safety standards.

Masons MRF is undergoing a complete facility rebuild and modernisation, following the award of a new 10 year contract from Suffolk County Council, which will see 65,000 tonnes per annum of DMR received into site. 

We are looking for an experienced and qualified (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) Mechanical Maintenance Technician who will plan, organise and undertake corrective and reactive work, and be responsible for delivering improvement projects leading to increased plant reliability and cost reduction.

The site can operate 24/7 and the role will involve working shifts on a rota basis.

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician role will include:

 *Be proactive with the delivery of planned and reactive workload or technical expertise as and when required. *Ensure that all Planned Maintenance inspections as defined by the site maintenance plans are completed safely and effectively *Ensure that all modifications or changes to equipment are in line with PUWER machinery safety regulations. *Continuously evaluate equipment reliability leading to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) studies and the planning and implementation of subsequent improvement activity.

Our ideal Maintenance Technician:

 *A demonstrable track record of maintaining and improving the mechanical workings of a lrge manufacturing or processing operation. *Completed apprenticeship (NVQ level 3 or ONC) in an appropriate engineering skill or equivalent *Previous experience working within a process, production or manufacturing environment *A good understanding of stock control, risk assessments and condition reports. *In depth understanding of a strategic approach to engineering and maintenance *A no compromise approach to health and safety. *Good understanding of engineering best practice *Analytical approach to problem solving *Although the role is for mechanical bias any electrical experience or qualifications is beneficial.

A full UK driving license will be required for this role.
