• Grade & Salary: 4 - £25.076.00 rising to £28,497.00 over four years

Role Purpose

This appointment is an opportunity to join the Conservation Land Management Team in South West Wales over the busiest conservation works period. The role is to provide support to the senior officers within the Conservation Land Management team and will include practical as well as administrative support on the National Nature Reserves (9) and Welsh Government Woodland Estates (7) within the South West region.

Plan and deliver programmes, within at least one of the following disciplines;

1) Deliver the recreational and land management work programmes. In addition, conduct landowner liability surveys and remedial work programmes as a result of survey findings.

2) Provide technical advice and support to enable the programme delivery. Monitor and prepare reports to ensure statutory compliance for designated sites.

In addition, ensuring to uphold legal liabilities of assets, implementation of work programmes, contract management, monitoring and contributing to reporting to international reporting mechanisms.

Qualifications and Skills

You will have;

• Experience of working across a wide range of land management disciplines

• Extensive knowledge and experience of conservation management, designated sites, and all aspects of forest practise, including land liabilities, forest planning, forest operations, recreation asset management, including visitor centre management (where relevant).

Knowledge of sustainable forest management, UKWAS and forest certification schemes.
