Senior/ Principal Consultant Climate Change MRV

We have built a strong reputation with customers and collaborators around the world by delivering innovation and technical excellence.  Aether specialises in climate change data collection, data processing and analysis and the development of databases, portals and transparent reporting systems. Our experience reflects many years of working in this field for the UK Government, the European Union, UNFCCC, UNDP and other donors, and working directly for governments in Annex 1 and Non-Annex 1 Parties. Aether has a large portfolio of projects related to Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) in support of the Paris agreement, Kyoto protocol and UNFCCC reporting mechanisms.

As a result of the growth of our international climate change and MRV business, we are offering the opportunity for a Senior/Principal Consultant to join our team. 

The Role

The successful candidate will work with our company Directors and other members of the team working on the delivery of our portfolio of international climate change projects and winning new projects. By working closely with in-country teams, supporting the development of greenhouse gas inventories and MRV systems, through capacity building and training, there is the opportunity in many countries to really make a difference. Required Experience and Skills

• Educated to at least degree level in a scientific subject (MSc preferred);

• Previous experience of working in an environmental consulting environment, preferably including international consulting;

• 5-10 years’ experience in the climate change and/or air quality technical areas with an extensive track record of working with GHG and/or air pollutant data;

• Experience in the successful delivery of capacity building and training;

• Experience of working within different cultural environments and a willingness to travel overseas on a regular basis.

• Good commercial skills, gained through business development, client engagement and winning new projects;

• Excellent customer facing and stakeholder engagement skills, preferably with an existing network of contacts;

• A strong track record of project management and delivery including written reports, provision of datasets and delivery of presentations
