Field Service Technician

We have an excellent opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join our team, working 45 hours a week. The successful candidate must be available to work on a call out rota an be willing to travel throughout our northern portfolio. 

The base location for this role is Dunbar Power Plant, and will also cover our Powergen site at Rigmuir and occasionally our site in Glasgow.

The Role

As our Field Service Technician, you will provide a regional maintenance service, with a focus on attending unscheduled breakdown of the Landfill Gas (LFG) and Anaerobic Digestion (AD) utilisation equipment. You will provide a regional 24/7 on call service to reset, restart or repair assets when they cannot be restarted remotely, as part of an on call rota.

You'll ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in an accurate and efficient manner and maintain accurate records of all tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures.

The Field Service Technician will be proactive, and creative, in problem solving and use initiative while maintaining exchange of information between the Engineering, Operations and Asset Optimisation team. You will assist in the development and implementation of maintenance routines, procedures and best practice

Our ideal Field Service Technician will have:

 *Planned preventative maintenance of large reciprocating Powergen assets. *Practical experience of maintaining and testing low voltage systems. *City & Guilds, HND, HNC or equivalent in Electrical or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering. *Practical experience of engine, plant process maintenance and diagnostics. *General engineering and operations experience in a heavy engineering environment. *Practical and innovative engineering and maintenance skills. *Practical experience of engine, plant process maintenance and diagnostics. *The ability to be tactful, strong and resilient in demanding situations. *Electrical and electronic experience in low voltage systems. *A full UK driving licence.
