Operator/HGV Drivers

Location: Uddingston, Glasgow, G71 5PN

Salary: approx. £19,950 + overtime

Hours of Work: 8am - 4pm with 30 min lunch break Mon to Fri, with regular overtime

In a world where the environment and legislation are in constant flux, they also provide emergency response in a variety of settings. Their customers include multinational blue-chip organisations across a wide range of sectors both private and public.

We are seeking to recruit three Operator / HGV Drivers possessing Cat CE licence who will also undertake duties associated with that of a Spill Response Operator to join our team in Glasgow. As the duties of this post constitute those of a professional driver, all operation of Company vehicles must be undertaken in a safe manner and fully compliant with all relative law and legislation.

Operator/HGV Drivers Responsibilities:

* Operating Company vehicles including HGV & ADR class vehicles or any other vehicle for which the postholder is suitably qualified to operate
* Ensuring all vehicle checks is undertaken prior to commencing any works
* Compliance with tachograph regulations and reporting in the required manner
* Reporting any vehicle defects to supervision as soon as identified and completing vehicle defect report in such circumstances
* Ensuring all ADR vehicles display appropriate placards during transportation and any time stationary. The postholder holds full responsibility for ensuring they are in possession of the correct written instruction document referring to the materials being transported. (TREM card)
* Ensure all uplifting and offloading of product and materials is undertaken in the correct and compliant manner with high regard for health and safety and correct working practices. In addition, the postholder will be required to participate in the cleaning of the tanker barrel, adhering to safe working practices and ensuring correct PPE worn for this task
* Responsibility for ensuring the security of all Company vehicles and equipment
* Works to be carried out in accordance with health and safety to include provided RAMS documentation. The postholder holds full responsibility for reading and signing such documentation
* Responsibility for cleaning all plant and equipment post job. The postholder will also be responsible for identifying repair work required
* Liaison with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company
* Completion of all works paperwork, time sheets and submission in a timely manner to divisional supervision
* Liaison with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements of possible opportunities
* Any other duties for which the postholder is qualified for and capable of undertaking
* Take part in the depot "On Call Rotas". This will not always involve driving HGV vehicles
* Working away from home on occasions and at short notice

Operator/HGV Drivers Requirements:

* Must possess full UK driving licenc
