Spill Response Operator

Location: Uddingston, Glasgow, G71 5PN

Salary: approx. £18,700 + overtime

Hours of Work: 8am - 4pm with 30 min lunch break Mon to Fri, with regular overtime

About the Company:

We are currently seeking to recruit two Spill Response Operators to undertake duties associated with that of Spill Response Operative, including high pressure water jetting and clean-up of spills using available resource and equipment. The postholders are required to operate any Company vehicles for which they are suitably qualified to operate.

Spill Response Operator Responsibilities:

* Supervision of day to day jobs and spill responses
* Ensuring all vehicle checks is undertaken prior to commencing any works
* Reporting any vehicle defects to supervision as soon as identified, completing vehicle defect report in such circumstances
* Uplifting and offloading of product and materials in the correct and compliant manner with high regard for health and safety and correct working practices. In addition, adhering to safe working practices and ensuring correct PPE worn for this task
* Ensuring the security of all Company vehicles and equipment
* Carrying out works in accordance with health and safety to include provided RAMS documentation. The postholder holds full responsibility for reading and signing such documentation
* Responsibility for cleaning all plant and equipment post job. The postholder will also be responsible for identifying repair work required
* Liaising with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company
* Completion of all works paperwork and submission in a timely manner to divisional supervision
* Liaising with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements of possible opportunities
* Any other duties for which the postholder is qualified for and capable of undertaking
* Working away from home on occasions and at short notice, and regular participation in the on call rota
* The postholders will be expected to undertake all duties in a professional manner, representing the Company well and to the best of their ability

Spill Response Operator Requirements:

* Must possess a full UK driving licence
* At least 12 months Plant experience (Desirable)
* Excellent knowledge and experience of completing RAMS documentation
* Willingness to work in an environment of change, dealing with emergency works (Essential)
* Self-motivated
* Reliable
* Willingness to be flexible and deliver excellent customer care and undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers
