Landfill Gas Technician

We are now looking to recruit a Landfill Gas Technician for our Pilsworth team in Bury, working 45 hours a week, Monday to Friday (with a Saturday on-call requirement).

The Role:

As our Landfill Gas Technician, you will undertake the safe and effective monitoring and balancing of gas collection systems (GCS) in order to optimise Viridor's landfill gas resource for regulatory compliance and for commercial benefit through power generation.

You will carry out other monitoring, analysis, record keeping and reporting on the status of gas collection systems and associated control and utilisation equipment to ensure that process control and health is optimised, and regulatory and Company requirements are met.

The Landfill Gas Technician will be responsible for the upkeep and calibration of all plant, equipment and tools used in monitoring, balancing and maintenance of landfill gas management assets in line with routine and planned preventative maintenance schedules. You'll ensure that spare parts and consumables are available when required.

The ideal Landfill Gas Technician:

 *An understanding of the operation and basic maintenance of landfill gas power generation and control equipment *Relevant practical experience in an associated discipline *An understanding of the operation and basic maintenance of landfill gas power generation and control equipment *Experience and willingness to work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions *conceptual understanding of landfill engineering, including containment engineering, Landfill Gas and leachate engineering would be advantageous *IOSH Supervising Safely certification would be beneficial *Full UK driving licence
