Specialist Advisor, Air Quality Monitoring

• Grade & Salary: Grade 6, £34,427 – 37,656

Role Purpose

To support the development of Natural Resources Wales’ approach to air quality monitoring, developing guidance and tools as appropriate. Support NRW staff by applying technical and legislative experience.  Maintain an overview of the sector identifying the implications for Natural Resources Wales.

As part of the Air Quality Team be the principal provider of advice in relation to monitoring emissions to air from regulated sites including common aerial chemical pollutants, examples of process abatement, monitoring strategies, commonly used monitoring techniques and quality assurance schemes employed. 

Qualifications and Skills

The Specialist Advisor Air Quality Monitoring will have direct experience of monitoring emissions to air, either as a regulator or operator and specialist knowledge of the MCERTS monitoring scheme for emissions to air and emissions monitoring techniques, and the standards/guidance governing them.

A degree in a relevant subject. You'll need to be an excellent communicator, be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and be a strong team worker.
