We now have an excellent opportunity for an Operational Technology (OT) Technician to join our Group IT function. This role is based in Exeter, delivering a first-class service for our internal & external customers and keeping our services running 24/7.

What will you be doing?

As our Operational Technology Technician, you will manage the configuration of the regional telemetry system in response to organisational requests. Working with the Operational Technology and ICA teams, partners and third parties, you'll elicit detailed requirements to commission and update outstations and signals which announce alarms and create event data.

The OT Technician will assist and advise in relation to save-set configurations, mimics and templates. Responding to requests for information on current configuration and trends is also a key part of the role.

Troubleshooting and resolution may involve the use of diagnostic, configuration and service management tools, as well as a requirement that face to face support is provided. You'll need to adhere to established standards, suggesting improvements where necessary, meet business expectations and adhere to formal change governance controls.

The successful Operational Technology Technician will also be required to participate in an out of hours standby roster.

What do you need?

 *A Level or BTEC Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant IT discipline *Operational / industrial technology experience in a medium or large organisation *Experience in installing, configuring and maintaining a wide variety of hardware and software *Experience using Microsoft Office, Access and SQL Server *Ability to follow agreed processes, and provide suggestions in relation to ongoing improvement *Able to identify, highlight and explain problems and risks, and knows when to escalate *Resilient with the ability to adapt to changing situations and reorganise tasks, people and priorities *Familiarity of ITIL or COBIT would be advantageous
