Project Manager


- Salary range of £40,000 to £55,000 (depending on relevant experience)

- 5% matched pension contribution

- Full Time role

- London based (Bermondsey Street area)

- Able to travel within UK and Continental Europe when required


Syzygy, set up in 2010, is one of the UK’s most successful specialist consultants in the Renewable Energy and Greentech sector; advising some of the biggest names in UK and European real estate helping them deliver and operate relevant, impactful renewable energy and Greentech projects.

We are looking to find a brilliant, team-focused Project Manager with a passion for the low carbon sector to join us and help deliver some of the UK’s most high-profile renewable energy and Greentech projects.

It’s likely you have a few years’ solid PM experience, and having an Engineering qualification would also help. But if you are an up and coming talent with at least 12 months’ experience, don’t be put off getting in touch – tell us why you should join our team, and I promise you we will listen.


This is a role which will provide rich variety - you will need to demonstrate the ability to handle multiple, varied workstreams and that you can remain calm under pressure whilst driving through the delivery of projects. You must be a self-starter, and comfortable taking responsibility for the delivery of your workstreams. You will not be alone, far from it, but we need people who are great at solving problems, critically evaluating situations and then making decisions based on that sound process – if you assess, evaluate and the make a reasoned decision, you will very rarely be wrong.

We provide an end-to-end service for our clients, so you will be involved from inception and feasibility through to procurement, project managing and signing off a fully operating renewable energy / Greentech project – where else will you get that level of exposure and responsibility?

In an ideal world you will also be able to able to transfer those problem solving and critical thinking skills to tackle the management of sometimes highly complex consultancy projects.

Much of your work will focus on embedded Solar PV and EV charging infrastructure (80% of our work is focused on the commercial built environment) – our expectation is that you and your colleagues embrace the autonomy (within a team support framework), ownership and accountability you will be given.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Project Management

- To lead Project Management appointments, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery.

- To support colleagues on Project Management appointments, taking responsibility for an aspect of service delivery.

- To ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards

- Communicating - Keeping stakeholders up to date with progress and workstreams throughout the process

- Managing large teams of internal and external stakeholders

- Moving the project safely and quickly through the process


- Understanding (helping shape sometimes) a client brief

- Identifying practical, commercial solutions to the client brief

- Analysing the client’s usage of energy

- Planning and delivering bespoke consultancy projects

- Preparing site based or desktop feasibility studies for clients

- Presenting results to clients and recommending options for delivering identified projects

Client liaison

- Overseeing and being responsible for the client experience during project delivery

- Presenting results to clients and recommending options for delivering identified projects

- Reporting regularly to the client to update them on ongoing processes and recommend the best technical solutions

- Managing ‘whole’ client relationships across

- Managing all internal and external stakeholders

The job will be mainly office based but you will be out and about at sites regularly when managing projects. A full driving licence will be required.


- A degree in engineering or project management subject

- A relevant professional qualification with the APM or Prince 2

- Minimum 12 months’ experience as a professional project manager, preferably within renewables, construction or infrastructure projects.

- Hardworking, diligent workstyle with structured approach.

- MS Project software experience.

- Recognised project management qualifications / training.

- Able to work in London but travel when required.

- Project management experience across a range of disciplines, contract/procurement

- Experience of JCT contracts and their practical application

- Excellent written and oral communication

- Able to foster and promote collaborative working relationships

- Strong excel skills / AutoCAD (ideally)

- UK driving license

- Able to work within the UK

- Fluent English is essential


- We are offering a salary of between £40,000 and £55,000 depending on current experience

- 5% matched contribution towards a pension

- 25 days holiday in addition to public holidays
